Over the past few months, against my normal behavior, I have become increasingly likely to contact our local elected officials when issues under their consideration warrant such comments, encouragement or correction.
As a result, I thought I would share with each of you, some of the communications which I have directed to US Senator Saxby Chambliss’ (R-GA) office regarding the bailout bill.
Now, I am quite sure that I have better odds of being abducted by aliens, winning the lotto, or being struck by lightning 10 consecutive times on a sunny day than of having one of my messages actually reach Senator Chambliss’ desk. For some reason, I find myself restless tonight. Perhaps this has something to do with yesterday’s events where I spoke with many people.
Normally, I would not write about such an item as I am today, however; these indeed are strange times. Perhaps the best way to preface this is to suggest that everyone reading should by now have their tinfoil hats properly affixed.
It’s long been said that 70% of all accidents occur within 1 mile from your home. I suspect the remaining 30% happen in voting booths. Tomorrow is the day, one thing is for sure, about half of us will be disappointed and the remaining half, hopeful that our candidate will keep their promises.
